Meeting Employee Superannuation Guarantee requirements in Geelong regionOctober 28, 2015
It’s D Day for the Geelong region’s employers to pay the Employee Superannuation Guarantee’s latest instalment. Have you met the deadline?
This payment comes around four times a year and must be made on the 28th day of the month following the quarters ending on September 30, December 31, March 31 and June 30.
Employers are required to pay the Superannuation Guarantee for each employee – full-time, part-time or casual – who earns more than $450 per month gross. The current super rate stands at 9.5 per cent and the money owed must be placed in a complying super fund, usually nominated by the employee.
If you’ve failed to meet this requirement as an employer, it’s well worth talking to our experienced team at CD&G Accountants to work out what steps you must follow to rectify the situation. You have legal responsibilities to your employees and their superannuation and our professional accountants can help you get back on track. We can assist you through the process of lodging a Superannuation Guarantee charge statement and paying the ATO a Superannuation Guarantee charge.
